Jaywalkers are one of the most exciting, virtuosic and entertaining young bands on the UK folk scene. A strong foothold in folk, with occasional bluegrass references and the recent addition of slap bass creates a sound that is not only unique, but guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
They met in 2003 at their local session in Helsby, just outside of Chester, and formed in the summer of ‘08. After reaching the final of the BBC Young Folk Awards 2009, they have gone from strength to strength, performing at many major UK folk festivals including Broadstairs, Fylde, Purbeck, Bournemouth and numerous radio stations.
With the release of their highly acclaimed debut album ‘16
Miles’ in March 2011; the future looks very bright for this young band.
